Artist's Statement
From childhood I’ve had a love for animals, and since 2016 they have become the focus of my art. My paintings, drawings, and prints address a variety of ethical and environmental issues affecting animals. Inspiration for my art stems from specific events, human actions, or policies affecting animals.
When conceptualizing my work, I educate myself on the subject in order to effectively communicate with my audience. Sometimes the subject can be heavy, so I try to invoke emotion and make each piece aesthetically pleasing. The goal is that my audience feels open to learning, gains an admiration for the animals, and understands their importance.
